WHAT IS A MALA?:
A mala is a beaded necklace traditionally used during meditation or prayer. The word “mala” is Sanskrit for meditation garland.
They are always made with exactly 108 beads, like this one.
Why 108, you ask?
108 has significance in many different cultures:
Beads of wood or gemstones are chosen based on the individual’s needs. In example, you may rose quartz for love and comfort or amethyst for anxious thoughts or boosts in creativity. Each bead is strung onto silk thread, and then hand knotted into place, which can take several hours to complete by hand. Traditionally, mala neckalces were used during meditation or prayer, an affirmation repeated as they counted each of the 108 beads.
ABOUT THIS MALA:
Beads: Amethyst, Aquamarine, Rose Quartz & Blue Aventurine
Pendant: Rose Quartz Teardrop
Aquamarine – Gives courage and promotes speaking your truth
Amethyst – Connects you to your higher self, deepens your intuition and your insight
Rose Quartz – Promotes self love and emotional healing
Blue Aventurine – Aids in overcoming bad habits, improving self-discipline and self-awareness
The four of these combined will aid you in connecting to your higher self, and the stepping into that next level version of yourself. We’ve opted for a large rose-quartz pendant in lieu of a tassel, to remind you that self-love and self-care should come at the forefront of your journey.
