Though Cleopatra was known for her love of emeralds, many believe some of those famous pieces of her collection were actually peridot. Pronounced “pair-a-doe”, this gemstone has not only been found around the world but also in meteorites!

Known as the “gem of the sun” this gorgeous bright green stone was once thought to harness the light of the sun itself. So much, in fact, that it was only mined at night when they could most easily be seen.

Legend has it that if you set the stone in gold, it possesses the power to cast away terrors of the night. As an added benefit, peridot is often associated with growth, harmony and prosperity.
